To me it sounds more like FM bass than a 303. It has its own sounds. A Model:Samples could get closer to a 303 with the right samples plus it has a filter.

EZBOT on what he believes is the ultimate Elektron performance setup. I personally couldn’t handle that many Elektron boxes at once! 😅

I think he mainly uses the Octatrack as a live looper and effects box, but yeah, any more than two Elektron boxes I find too much to manage especially in a live situation.

I found this handy online calculator for working out Track Length/Scale to M.LEN on the Elektron machines. This should be handy when working with different track lengths for polyrhythms.

It actually makes quite nice acid-style basslines. It’s a great little box. If I didn’t have much money/space I’d definitely go with a Model:Cycles over the Novation Circuit.
