Please read the following community rules before posting in your profile or any groups.
1. Be Kind and Courteous
We’re all here because we love synths and creating music, so let’s create a welcoming environment and treat each other with respect. Healthy debates are encouraged, but thoughtfulness and kindness are required. If conversations get tense, then take a break and breathe. Do not use swear words or foul language unnecessarily or excessively. Expect moderators to remove comments or ask you to stop a discussion if it gets uncivil.
2. No Hate Speech or Bullying
Bullying, flaming, or trolling of any kind isn’t allowed, and hate speech or degrading comments (or offensive jokes/memes) about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated. Do not use stereotypes or generalisations about groups of people. While we do not outright forbid it, we ask that you take great care when engaging in politically loaded topics.
3. No Promotions or Spam
Give more than you take from the groups. Feel free to post links to your videos, downloads, or to external links that are relevant to the group discussions. However, promotion of your commercial product or service is only allowed on your personal profile (as long as it’s relevant to music production). Spam and irrelevant external links aren’t allowed.
4. Stay on Topic
Only discussions relating to the specific group are allowed. If there isn’t a group relating to the subject of your post, then create a new one and post there. For example, buying, selling and trading synths or other music gear should only be done in a sales group, such as Synths for Sale. To make sure everyone feels safe, including our younger members, we do not allow discussions about sex, drugs, guns, and violence.
5. Respect Everyone’s Privacy
Being part of this community requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions are great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in a group should stay in the group. No doxxing (publishing personal information).
Reporting & Blocking Members
What do I do if someone breaks the rules?
Please report anything that you see on the site that violates the community rules. This can be done by clicking on the “Report” button (flag icon) on the relevant post, comment or reply. You can also report Groups and Members that are in violation of these rules by clicking on the “Report” button (flag icon) in the header of the group or member pages.
Site Moderators, Group Administrators and Group Moderators will take any necessary action when an activity has broken the rules. This could mean editing or deleting the offending post, comment or reply, speaking with the member about the violation, removing them from a specific group, or even banning the member from the website.
What if I suspect the site has become a victim of a spamming campaign?
Help us fight against spam by using the “Report” button (flag icon) to report any spam that you see. Please do this as soon as you can so that it can be dealt with swiftly.
Can I block another member?
Yes, you can block any member using the “Block” button in the header of each member’s profile. You can also block users from the Members Directory.
What happens if I don’t follow the community rules?
Problematic activity can be reported to the Site Moderators by other members or the Group Administrators and Group Moderators. Some offences are worse than others and you can get instantly banned, but in most cases your post will be edited or deleted by a moderator, and you will get a warning. Multiple warnings for blatant disregard of the rules may result in removal from groups and possibly even a site-wide ban.
