Dave Mech has reviewed the Analog Heat. I never really thought about buying one before but this now has got me looking at second hand prices 😆

You can sequence it over Midi, i my case with Arturia Keystep 37. It also has a great arpeggiator with a pattern editor, but there is no clock input. Syncing arps with Midi clock is always a bit tricky…

Oh yes it does. You can switch between Internal and Auto. But the different arp modes are a bit tricky: in one-shot mode only the tempo is synced. But it starts playing in the moment you press the keys. In hold mode it starts in sync but it keeps playing unsynced after stopping the DAW. Then when starting it again it sometimes playes out of sync. But in normal mode it works fine. 🙂 Just compared it with the Microfreak: there is a similiar issue in hold mode when restarting the DAW. So maybe it is a general thing when using an arp with hold.

Destroy FX is an effect module for Drambo designed to destroy your beats (or anything else you dare to send through it). Use with caution! 🙂

Is anyone using Drambo in a hardware setup with your other gear? I currently use my Digitakt to sequence and control my synths, but as Drambo has a song mode I thought I might try using it as the “brain” of my setup. I’m assuming I can use the Digitakt as the interface as it’s class compliant?
What about PCMs? Can Drambo can send PCMs for selecting patches ion my synths? I can’t see anything obvious.

Yup, I use dRambo as my main sequencer for both software and hardware.
Yup, you can use the Digitakt as an audio interface if I remember correctly though I don’t have a Digitakt to test this myself.
As long as the audio interface is class compliant then it will work though you can only use one audio interface at any one time, a limitation of idevices and in regards to Program Control messages?
Yes, dRambo can send PC messages, have a look in the Midi section but you cannot send Bank Control message yet. -

Have you been wondering what the difference is between the opsix, wavestate, and modwave?

Saved by the Digitakt // How it became my DAWLESS Centre Piece

I never really thought about using it as the center of my setup as it has no song mode. It’s definitely a very capable box though.

You can easily use the pattern chaining to build up different patterns into a song. I tend to create a pattern, copy it 16 times, then use Pattern Mutes to bring different elements in and out. You can go into the scale mode and set the number of times each pattern plays. Once you’re done you can chain all 16 patterns to play your “song” :-D.

@eatsleepsynthrepeat It’s a great idea! it’s unfortunate that the pattern chaining not saved in a project

Great track and visuals. I’ve not heard of VS Synth before. Will take a look at that 🙂

I sold my blofeld a few years ago but have been thinking about buying one again lately. Can’t even remember why I sold it. Was great for Trance leads and plucks, and being multitimbral you can use it for a whole song. Here’s a track I made using the blofeld…
