I picked up a second hand Digitakt at the weekend to pair with my Syntakt. Can’t wait to try out this Combo! Only thing is it seems to have a scratchy/noisy Master Volume pot. Is this common with the Digitakt? I’m gonna open her up and see if I can clean it.

Thanks, I have some compressed air so will give that a go first. Do you need to actually open the unit up or do you mean just pull the knob cap off and spray from there?

I tried blowing it out from above a few weeks ago and it didn’t work, so I opened her up today and tried from inside and it’s definitely better, but it’s not completely gone. Strange thing though is that I’ve notice my Syntakt (which is obviously only a few months old) also has a slightly noisy volume too (although nothing like the Digitakt had). I’m guessing this is common/normal so I’m just going to stop worrying about it.

I don’t own one yet, I’m on the fence about whether to get the Syntakt or the Analog Rytm, which can layer samples. The extra digital machines on the Syntakt do sound good though!

Since I bought mine I’ve pretty much not used any of my other gear, it’s so addictive! I bought a Digitakt to use alongside it but I found I prefer creating my own drums on the Syntakt. The only thing I’d really like them to add is portamento. Song mode would be nice, but I found you can do quite a lot using chains so it’s not a show stopper. The analog FX block is really good, so much going on in this little box! -

I hear there’s a big update coming soon. I wonder what they will be adding, maybe some new machines. A sample machine would be really good but I’m not sure they’d add that due to overlap with the Digitakt.

I really never thought they’d add a song mode to the Digitakt!
i just installed the update and had a quick play, it’s been implemented really well, so slick. So fast to get a song going from a single pattern using the mutes. Thank you Elektron!-

Yes they worked really hard to make it as streamlined as possible. I’m on the beta team and have been testing Song Mode since July, so was lucky enough to have the opportunity to make suggestions and help shape it, so it’s great to see this finally released!

Try turning the encoder back and forth 20-30 times to loosen any dirt and then blowing it out with some compressed air. Then repeat a few times. This will often fix it. If not you could try using some cleaning spray, but make sure you use a lubricant afterwards as the cleaning agent will remove the grease and this will eventually make the encoder worse.
