Groove Synthesis have released 3rd Wave – their hybrid wavetable synthesizer inspired by the legendary PPG Wave, and featuring digital oscillators with classic analog-style waveforms and flexible wavetables paired with analog filters. synth4ever posted this demo video a few days ago that nicely shows off some of its sounds, patches & presets.

Good Idea! I usually just find out about stuff if it appears in my YouTube feed but sometimes I discover the firmware for my synth was updated 6 months back and I had no idea! I guess I could be a bit more on the ball, subscribe to newsletter etc.

Roland recently updated the MC-101 and MC-707 with the ability to save and load “clips” containing both sound and sequencer data. This is my first pack of free clips for the MC-101 / MC-707. It includes 32 basses and leads inspired by the Roland SH-101. Enjoy!

Not yet, it’s still up for sale. I just took it out the box to make these clips. I’m thinking of swapping it for an MC-101 now they added the partial editing. I mainly use the Syntakt as the centre of my setup these days so I’m thinking the smaller MC would pair quite nicely.

This looks powerful and sounds fantastic! It’s not cheap though when compared to other similar size synths. It’s roughly around twice the price of the Novation Summit and Hydra Synth Deluxe.
