I just bought an electribe 2 on eBay to use with my Oxi One. This will be the third time I’ve had one, both were sold previously as I couldn’t stand using the crappy sequencer. But after recently picking up an Oxi One MIDI Sequencer I figured they’d make a great pair. Basically just using the electribe as a sound module with the Oxi controlling everything. Both are battery powered and have TRS Type A MIDI ports so I should just be able to connect them with a single 3.5mm audio cable for MIDI. Should be a fun combo. I’ll let you know how I get on and maybe post some videos!

Hello all, I have an issue with my new sh-4d that I’m curious whether it’s an unique issue to my particular device or is common to others…
If I power my device to a powered USB computer hub or direct to the computer in any combination I can hear a grounding hum – the only option I’ve found that I can get the hum to disappear is to power the sh-4d with batteries or a USB power bank… which is fine, but when I’m working with the sh-4d in the studio, it would be better to power it with a constant electrical source which I have not figured out how to do without the hum which shows up…Read More4 Comments-
Yes it’s a common problem when powering synths from the PC USB port. I have experienced it with my Roland SH-4d and T-8, and the Uno Synth Pro. As @kpatzsc said, it’s best to power separately if you can. I’ve also seen people recommend using a USB isolator so maybe worth having a look at something like this… https://hifimediy.com/product/usb-isolator/

Polyend have released the Tracker Mini. Looks cute. No pads or jog wheel, but has more sample RAM and bigger CPU, and can handle stereo samples. I’m interested but it’s $700 (same price as the desktop version) which honestly seems a bit pricey to me.

He didn’t actually seem to be all that impressed with the Tracker Mini, but nice to have some more demos finally. Seems like it’s been a long wait on this one. I do agree with what he says about the filter. I don’t know what it is about the Tracker but I never think it sounds that good when used with my other gear.

You need to update the group name with the S-1 Tweak Synth 😉

Any opinions on the Roland S-1 Tweak Synth if I already own an SH-01A? Anyone own both? Which do you prefer?

UNO Synth Pro X has been announced!
Paraphonic digitally controlled analog synth with 3 variable waveshape oscillators, 2 analog filters (with 2/4 pole, LP/HP), 2 LFOs, 3 envelopes, Modulation Matrix (16 slots), 3 effects slots with choice of 10 effects (5 delays, 2 modulation FX, 3 reverbs), 64 step sequencer, and an arpeggiator. 256 available preset slots.
Loads of videos on YouTube from all the usual channels, but thought this one showed the sound off particularly well.

Isn’t pretty much the same synth engine as the UNO Synth Pro but double the price? More knobs but still shared controls for the oscillators, envelopes and LFOs so not sure what you’re really gaining.

Agreed. I just watched the official IK Multimedia video and it’s basically the same synth with a different skin. There are some improvements though, like AC power and USB-C but nothing that would justified more than double the price. I reckon the price will come down though in a few months.
